Pupil voice play a significant role in achieving our whole school vision. We value what pupils think and work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals. In 2019, we conducted a pupil survey to gain further insight into pupils’ views of the school. The results of this are summarised below.
In addition to our usual communication with pupils we also hold regular School Council and Eco Committee meetings.
Our School Council is made up of one representative from each class who is elected to the position of School Council Representative. Meetings are held monthly to discuss ideas and improvements to school systems, resources and our facilities.
In recent times, some significant changes that have been made as a result of School Council requests have been the introduction of Community Learning groups (see our curriculum page for more details), a change to our timetable and also the installation of a brand new playground area.
Our Eco Committee meets every month to discuss ideas for reducing our carbon footprint and being responsible citizens. Since the Committee formed we have introduced recycle bins to every class, a policy of turning off lights, and reducing our use of paper.
